Cabela’s Incorporated and its subsidiaries operate as a retailer and direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping, and related outdoor merchandise. Its product offering includes merchandise and equipment for hunting, fishing, marine use, and camping, as well as casual and outdoor apparel and footwear, optics, vehicle accessories, gifts and home furnishings, and furniture restoration related merchandise. As of December 27, 2008, the company operated 29 retail stores, including 28 in 20 states and 1 in Canada. It also issues and manages the Cabela?s CLUB Visa card and related customer loyalty rewards program, as well as sells brokered certificates of deposit. Cabela?s Incorporated offers its products through retail stores, the Internet, and catalog mailings. The company was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Sidney, Nebraska.

-The company posted a bigger-than-expected 25 percent increase in second-quarter profit. It also raised its 2009 revenue outlook and said earnings for the year could top last year’s earnings. Net income rose to $9.12 million, or 14 cents a share, in the second quarter, from $7.28 million, or 11 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue rose 4.4 percent to $549.2 million, above the $531.3 million analysts had expected.

-The compnany will release third quarter 2009 financial results before the market opens on October 27, 2009. A conference call to discuss the results will be held at 11:00 a.m. ET that same morning.

-CAB added 1.05%, to $14.50 last Friday. It has a market cap of 972.41 million and has traded within a 52-week range of $4.18 and $17.73. CAB is currently above its 20-day moving average of $13.75 and above its 100-day moving average of $13.79. It has near-term technical support in the $12.59 price area. If the shares can continue the recent rebound, we see overheadresistance around the $15.16 price levels. Technical indicator for the stock is buy. Here is the chart:
